The bathroom is an excellent place for plants. In addition to brightening up the space, many plants love the extra humidity offered in most bathrooms. But not all plants will do well in humid spaces, so be sure to choose the best plants for the bathroom. Also be aware of the daylight situation in your bathroom. Many plants that do well in humidity also like plenty of sunlight.

1. Cast Iron Plant

As its name suggests, the Cast Iron Plant is tough. Almost indestructible, this plant is perfect for the bathroom, even if your bathroom has little natural light. Cast Iron Plants typically grow to about 24 inches high and are native to the Japanese Islands.

The Spider Plant is one of the easiest plants to grow, just about anywhere. And it will love you for placing it in a bathroom. They require only moderate watering, especially in humid environments, and during the summer, some Spider Plants will bloom small white flowers.

The Peperomia requires little watering, and it likes temperatures between 65ᵒ and 80ᵒ F with indirect, bright sunlight.

Gardenias are a type of indoor plant that thrives in humid environments, making the bathroom the perfect place to grow them. Plus, having plants in the bathroom can help to purify the air and create a more relaxing atmosphere.

To get started, all you need is a gardenia plant and a pot with drainage holes. Place the plant in a spot that gets indirect sunlight, and water it when the soil feels dry to the touch. Be sure to keep an eye on the humidity level in your bathroom, as too much or too little moisture can cause problems for gardenias. With a little care, you can enjoy the sweet scent of gardenias year-round – without even stepping outside.

Also, you can hang these plants, and they’ll grow all the way to the floor, unless you prune them.

With its large, beautifully patterned leaves and hearty quality, the Chinese Evergreen brings life to any room. Make sure your bathroom stays above 60ᵒ F, with an ideal range between 70ᵒ and 72ᵒ F. Water them moderately, and keep them out of drafty areas.

With a botanical name like Zamioculcas Zamiifolia, it’s no wonder this plant is simply knows as the ZZ Plant. And the ZZ Plant is a wonderful plant for your bathroom. Its beautiful green leaves will brighten any bathroom, even without a lot of sunlight. The ZZ Plant will grow to a height of two to three feet and is very easy to care for, needing moderate light and water.
