How do I choose a bromeliad?

  • Check the leaves: A bromeliad’s leaves should be stiff and have a bright green color. Look out for leaves that appear droopy or have yellow or dark spots. These signs may indicate problems in the plant.
  • Check for pests: These are bad news since they can spread rapidly throughout your home. Make sure that the plant you pick is free of bugs to protect your other plants.
  • Go for a new plant: It may be tempting to take the colorful ones home, but how long they last won’t be guaranteed. Choosing a new sprout will ensure that it will last longer and display brighter colors as it grows. You will have complete control over how it’s grown; the whole process is up to you.
