What is the pot-in-pot method of propagating houseplants?

This is an easy way to propagate a small number of plants. Fill a pot or bulb pan 8 inches or more in diameter with sand or a sand and peat moss mixture. In the center, sink a 3-inch pot with the drainage hole corked. Insert the cuttings in the sand. Keep the small pot filled with water. It will supply sufficient moisture to the sand, and you won’t have to worry about watering the cuttings so often.
