Is peat moss acidic? If so, when I am using it for humus, should I add lime to the soil mixture for plants that prefer sweet soil?

The types of peat moss on the market are acidic in varying degrees, and it is difficult to find out exactly how acid they are. But don’t let this bother you. Generally, they are not acidic enough to affect most plants, and it is rarely necessary to add lime to potting mixtures just because they include peat moss.
