How should houseplants be treated when moved outdoors in summer?
Place them in shade, partial shade, or sun according to their needs. Protect fragile specimens from hard rain, strong wind, and pets. You can set the plants on the floor of the porch or terrace or in plant stands. Or you can sink the pots of upright plants in the ground. If you use the latter method, be sure to set them on a thick layer of gravel or hard cinders. Water them regularly rather than depending on rain. Also be sure to guard against pests and diseases.
