Are worms good for potted plants? I understand that they help in a garden.

Worms are not a good idea for houseplants. They disturb the roots of potted plants and tunnel the soil so it dries out quickly. Unpot plants and dig out the worms or force them to the surface by watering with a solution of 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard in water.
